English culture hasn’t changed – we’ve never liked unfairness

The more unfairly the ‘underclass’ is treated the more explosive their response will be. Like the machine breakers of the industrial revolution the modern ‘desperate society’ is lashing out without clearly understanding who or what to blame.

No easy answers (but history provides a few clues)

Last night on the BBC political correspondent, Nick Robinson described UK Prime Minister, David Cameron as a ‘political historian’. I had never heard him described that way and to be honest I find it extremely hard to believe. After all, those who understand history tend not to repeat the mistakes of the past. In the [...]

Predictably immature EDL behaviour in Hebden Bridge

So it’s not at all surprising that racists have immature beliefs and behave in immature ways. That’s what ethnocentric thinking is all about.

Tommy (EDL) Robinson found guilty

Yaxley Lennon (AKA Tommy Robinson) appeared in court in Hammersmith today where he was found guilty of public order offences. Given his responsibility for founding a movement dedicated to racist disorder this is hardly surprising.

EDL goes the same way of all paranoid groups

Following yesterday’s predictable infighting between rival factions of the English Defence League (EDL) it seems that this group of neo Nazi extremists is going the same way as all the rest. This is what happens time and time again when paranoid people come together. Sooner or later their paranoia is directed at each other. The [...]

Violence, alienation and arrogance

For my part I can’t see any way that this sort of hatred, directed not at ideas but at actual people, at individuals and at entire sections of the community can ever end well. We may have just seen the result of this kind of rhetoric in Tuscon. I wonder how long before we witness similair assassinations from our own, UK-based far right extremists.

Comparing propoganda in modern UK with that of Nazi Germany

An excellent blog from mindinflux making some very pertinent comparisons about the way the media and politicians perceive people with disabilities or ‘differences’.

What is the world coming to?

Yesterday I watched TV news reports with mounting unease as several hundred demonstrators invaded the West Yorkshire town of Bradford. It’s a town I know well from regular training visits around the area. Bradford is a community that, although it has had its problems, I have always found to be welcoming but otherwise unremarkable. Bradford [...]

PR would benefit the BNP. Remember the lessons of history

Yesterday I predicted a paranoid meltdown within the ranks of the BNP following their humiliating defeat at the ballot box. http://stuartsorensen.wordpress.com/2010/05/07/pack-your-bags-and-go/ Today I saw this: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2010/05/02/bnp-star-quits-to-expose-racist-party-115875-22227237/ Simon Nicholson is a former serviceman who had been taken in by the claims that the BNP had moved away from it’s racist heritage. His diary (linked above) is [...]

Pack your bags and go!

Margaret Hodge spoke for decent citizens across UK, not just her constituency of Barking when she told Nick Griffin and his racist British National Party to pack their bags and go. The BNP had claimed to speak for the White majority of British people with their policies of discrimination and their bizarre, revisionist view of [...]
